Accounts holding long positions divided by accounts holding short positions. This is an account ratio, not position size or trading volume. Top 100 contracts by volume.
Understanding the long/short ratio
The long/short ratio compares the number of accounts holding long positions with those holding short positions. A ratio above 1 means more accounts are long; extreme readings show crowded retail positioning that the market often moves against.
FAQ
What is the long/short ratio?
It is the share of trader accounts that are net long divided by the share that are net short on a futures exchange, as published by Binance, Bybit and Gate.io.
Does a high long/short ratio mean price will rise?
Not necessarily. It counts accounts, not position size, so many small longs can sit against a few large shorts. Use it together with open interest and funding rate.
Is FuturesLens a free Coinalyze or CoinGlass alternative?
Yes. FuturesLens is a free Coinalyze alternative and free CoinGlass alternative for crypto futures analytics. Open interest, funding rate, liquidations, long/short ratio, basis, CVD and volume delta are available without an account, loaded directly from public Binance, Bybit and Gate.io market data.
