CVD and volume delta for order flow analysis
CVD (cumulative volume delta) adds up the difference between market buy and market sell volume over time. Volume delta shows the same difference for each individual bar. Together they reveal order flow: who is aggressively hitting the market behind each price move.
FAQ
What is CVD?
CVD, or cumulative volume delta, is the running total of taker buy volume minus taker sell volume. A rising CVD means aggressive buyers dominate; a falling CVD means aggressive sellers dominate.
What is a CVD divergence?
When price makes a new high while CVD falls (or price falls while CVD rises), the move is not supported by aggressive order flow and may be absorbed by passive limit orders.
What is volume delta?
Volume delta is the net taker buy minus taker sell volume within a single candle. FuturesLens shows it as a histogram under the price chart.
Is FuturesLens a free Coinalyze or CoinGlass alternative?
Yes. FuturesLens is a free Coinalyze alternative and free CoinGlass alternative for crypto futures analytics. Open interest, funding rate, liquidations, long/short ratio, basis, CVD and volume delta are available without an account, loaded directly from public Binance, Bybit and Gate.io market data.
